It’s all go at Naylor Scotland…
Methil continues to supply ducting and drainage products to many of Scotland’s major construction schemes although the team up there could be forgiven for having been rather distracted of late.
Firstly Scotland hosted what many thought was the best Commonwealth Games held so far. A slightly cheesy opening ceremony was followed by a fantastic event and nothing but credit should go to the city of Glasgow for the excellent organisation and for living up to the billing as the friendly games. Full venues showed how much the country supported the event and visitors even got to see some sunshine: a rare thing North of the border!
Secondly, after two years of listening to all the arguments, the Scottish Referendum finally took place on 18 September. A record turnout of around 85% finally put a cross in their chosen box and the 10% majority for the Better Together campaign showed that the feeling to remain part of the United Kingdom still remains strong, whilst highlighting that there is a lot to do to convince YES voters that a brighter future is ahead of us.
Finally, one of the World’s biggest sporting events is coming to Gleneagles Perthshire between the 26-28 September: crowds of 45,000 per day will be attending Europe v USA in Golf’s Ryder Cup.
