Naylor

Blast from the past…

Those who have visited our Cawthorne site may have heard the story of how our clay manufacturing evolved from a civil engineering business which built the railway viaduct at nearby Denby Dale. We were pleased to recently receive a copy of a Huddersfield Daily Chronicle article dated 17 September 1879 from historian Edward Hellewell. The article commented: “This is one of the most substantial works in the railway world” and pleasingly “the contractors are Messrs Naylor Brothers and this work reflects the highest credit upon them”!
