Naylor Specialist Plastics
Naylor Specialist Plastics started trading as Rateoval Ltd in 1983 and soon earned a reputation for high quality and customer service. We still pride ourselves on our ability to provide solutions for customers needing development samples, short production runs, special sizes or fabricated assemblies. Although we are now an experienced manufacturer of all types of extruded thermoplastic profiles, we have developed special expertise in making tubing and pipes.
Experience
We have unique and particular skills in the particular field, gained by our manufacturing experience built up during the past 27 years. The Naylor Specialist Plastics production expertise is only made possible by the continuing commitment of its workforce. For example, our senior production personnel have more than 100 years of combined experience in plastic extrusion manufacturing between them. Naylor Specialist Plastics has recognised the importance of retaining this expertise and has instigated formal training to NVQ level for all personnel involved in any aspect of production.
Size Range
We are able to produce tubes from as small as 2mm to 200mm od with up to a 20mm wall and almost any variation in between! The many different combinations of tubes manufactured over the years means we are alble to offer more than 500 different size variations from our own existing tooling. In the event of a totally new size being required, we can generally keep tooling costs to a minimum by utilising some parts of an existing set up.
Production Capacity
Our factory is working non-stop 24 hours per day 7 days per week, for a minimum of 50 weeks of the year. This flexibility coupled with a wide variety of modern extrusion equipment and the commitment of our staff, means we are able to tailor our production to provide solutions for most eventualities. However great the challenge, Naylor Specialist Plastics trieds to meet the customer's requirements within the available timeframe.
Tool Making
Our in-house tool making capability allows us to quickly produce and modify tooling to meet your requirements. This particularly permits the rapid production of prototypes.
Post Extrusion Techniques
Our manufacturing expertise in different post extrusion applications has been extended by customer requirements over the years. We have provided solutions wherever tubes have been needed to be formed to make bends, to be made into a square section to be drilled, slotted of chamfered. We are often asked for a precise square cut length and internal or external threads. Some customers have found that these processes, when applied to extruded tubing can replace in injection-moulded item, thereby eliminating the need for expensive tooling.
Tailor Made for Your Needs
The flexibility of our working week coupled with out expertise, enable us to tailor our production to meet the most challenging customer requirements. This may mean meeting an export deadline for a large consignment, or a customer collecting from our premises at 2am on a Saturday morning! Whatever the problem, we try to provide the best solution within the timescale needed by the customer.
Continuous Improvements
We are a company are always trying to evolve or grow into something bigger and stronger, we do not think it should be any other way. As our customers' needs have grown so we have grown to accommodate their needs. We have done this by implementing new working practices, modernising our premises, expanding our production lines and introducing an in-house capability. Above all, we have endeavoured to improve on our own high standards.
Our commitment to quality means that all of our operators are trained to NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) levels 1 and 2 in Plastics Processing, following guidelines issued by the BPTA. In addition to already achieving several customer led Quality Approvals, Naylor Specialist Plastics have formal recognition of their Quality Standard by achieving ISO 9001-2000.
Naylor Custom Profiles
Custom Profiles, an extruder of plastic profiles, mainly PVC, for a range of applications including shopfitting and furniture, was acquired by Naylor Drainage Ltd in January 2008. The 4 Custom Profile extrusion lines will be incorporated within the manufacturing operation based at Tipton

January 2012 - Specialist Plastics - Did You Know?
Did you know we can manufacture 20mm flexible single wall conduit on reels of 750m. We have the capacity to manufacture 400000m per month. What could you do with that? Other diameters are also available: 16mm, 25mm and 32mm.
December 2011 - Specialist Plastics - Did You Know?
We are based in the West Midlands and manufacture extruded pipes/tubes in many shapes and profiles in all colours from 10mm to 200mm using HDPE, MDPE, LDPE, Polypropylene, PVC, EVA, HIPS etc. Lengths can be handled up to 12m and coil lengths as required.
